Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology (NJUIT) is looking for UK partners to develop and deliver 4+0 undergraduate programmes with a single degree in the following fields:

  • Mechanical and Electronic Engineering Technology
  • Automation Technology and Application
  • Software Engineering Technology
  • Electronic Information Engineering Technology

NJUIT aims to recruit up to 160 students a year, with each degree programme recruiting up to 40 students.

Benefits for the UK partners

This is an opportunity for the selected UK partners to establish long-term partnerships with one of the top vocational universities in China, with potential for expansion into other fields, such as student undergraduate to overseas master’s programmes, short-term exchange programmes, faculty exchange programmes and joint research.

Areas of responsibility for the two collaborating parties

The selected UK partners will be expected to work with NJUIT to:

  • develop the curriculum for the joint programmes
  • provide support in the quality assurance of the programmes
  • issue bachelor’s degree to students upon completion of the programme

NJUIT will be responsible for:

  • promoting and recruiting students for the programmes
  • providing qualified teaching staff, facilities and teaching premises
  • providing logistical support for the joint programmes

About Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology

NJUIT was originally founded as ‘Zhonghua Vocational School’ in 1918, and is one of the oldest vocational universities in China. NJUIT has almost 13,500 students, and currently offers 48 Higher Vocational programmes and eight 4+0 undergraduate programmes. NJUIT is ranked first in Jiangsu province and second in China for higher vocational colleges.

NJUIT focuses on three key subjects – Engineering, Management, and Art. Engineering is the main discipline, with a focus on four categories of degree programmes:

  • Intelligent Manufacturing
  • Modern Control
  • Industrial Information
  • Productive Service and Management

NJUIT collaborates with a range of overseas organisations and universities, and has established a vocational college focused on mechanical and electrical engineering in Zambia in co-operation with the China Nonferrous Mining Group.

Timeline

NJUIT aims to submit materials to apply for joint programme approval from the Chinese Ministry of Education in September 2021, open for further discussions with potential partners.
