Nanchang University is looking for UK partners interested in establishing a joint undergraduate programme in the field of Material Science and Engineering. The partnership would be in the format of 3+1 or 4+0.
The University is also expecting to develop a summer school programme.

This is an opportunity for the selected UK partner to establish a long-term partnership with a strong university in Jiangxi province, with potential for expansion into other fields, such as study and faculty exchange. The selected UK partner will also have the opportunity to raise the institution’s profile and brand awareness in China, possibly benefitting student recruitment numbers.
Requirement & Responsibility
The UK partner selected to work with Nanchang University will be expected to:
- develop the curricula for the joint programme
- provide support in the quality assurance of the programmes
- provide some teaching for the programme
- issue a Bachelor’s degree to the students upon completion of the programme
Nanchang University will be responsible for:
- providing qualified teaching staff as well as the required teaching premises and logistical support for joint programmes
- promoting and recruiting students for the programmes
- supporting prospective students in preparing to study in the UK as part of the programme
About Nanchang University
Nanchang University was founded in 1921 and is a national key university of the “211 Project”, as designated by the Ministry of Education. In 2018, the University ranked 59th in the national university rankings. NCU currently has approximately 36,000 full-time students enrolled on undergraduate programmes with a teaching staff of more than 2,000.
Located in the Jiangxi Province, the University has four faculties: Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Science and Engineering and Faculty of Medicine. The University’s Material Science and Engineering programme is listed within the World Class Discipline list[1].
Nanchang University has previous experience in developing joint programmes and has successfully engaged in student exchange and joint programme partnerships with UK universities.
