Minzu University of China (MUC) is looking for UK partners to develop and deliver 3+1 or 4+0 transnational education joint undergraduate programmes in the following fields: Digital Economics, Big Data and New Media. MUC aims to recruit up to 60 students per programme per year and plans to have the first enrolment in 2021.

Areas of responsibility for the two collaborating partners:

The selected UK partners will be expected to work with MUC to:

  • develop the curricula for the joint programmes
  • provide academic staff from the UK university to deliver teaching in China to meet TNE regulations
  • provide support in the quality assurance of the programmes
  • issue bachelor degrees to students upon successful completion of the programmes

MUC will be responsible for:

  • promoting and recruiting students for the programmes
  • providing qualified teaching staff as well as the required teaching premises and logistical support for the joint programmes
  • issue undergraduate graduation certificates and bachelor’s degrees to the students upon successful completion of the programmes

About MUC

Minzu University of China (MUC), located in Beijing, is recognised as the most prestigious institution of higher education of ethnic minorities in China. In 2002, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Education, and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government signed the "Agreement on Key Joint Construction of Minzu University of China", in 2017, it successfully entered the "World Class University" Class A colleges and universities, with its ranking of top 100 in China.

MUC is a comprehensive research university with humanities as its main focus and ethnic studies as its unique characteristic, providing a full range of courses in literature, history, philosophy, economics, administration, law, science, engineering, medicine, education and multiple levels of education such as bachelor education, master education , ministerial leaders training, ethnic minority pre-foundation education, art secondary school, and further education. At present, MUC has twenty-three schools, and five departments, with fifty-five undergraduate programmess, sixty-seven master degree programmes and twenty-five doctoral programmes.

Requirement for UK universities:

Demonstrable expertise in the subject area,  interest in exploring Ministry approved  4+0/3+1 TNE programmes, currently able to apply for a Ministry approved joint programme (e.g. no recent or pending applications or recent unaudited programmes)
