The British Council in the Qatar is planning to organise Law Study Tour on 28 and 29 October 2013.

Since law has been growing in popularity as a degree programme of choice for Qatar-domiciled students over the past five years and there is currently a gap in local provision, the ultimate goal of the study tour is to help Qatar stakeholders develop a greater appreciation of the strengths of a UK law education, so that they can build partnerships and actively encourage more students to study in the UK.

In order to achieve this, we would meet with legal departments from different sectors, scholarship agencies and educational institutions with the aim of helping them to understand the structure and content of UK law degrees, how is it different from the local legal system, opportunities for post-graduate study, and career prospects.
We have already contacted some legal departments to gauge their interest and the response has been extremely positive.

We are suggesting a day and a half visit to include:

  • Briefing meeting with British Council
  • Briefing meeting with different legal departments and scholarship agencies in Qatar
  • Briefing meeting with education institutions in Qatar

UK institutions are expected to release law academics for at least two days

We are aiming to share a detailed agenda and participation costs by mid-September once we have received your expressions of interest.

In order for us to confirm the schedule and fees for the law study tour, we require your expressions of interest at the earliest. Therefore, we request that you email Rawan Khir, SIEM Manager, Qatar  your expression of interest with the subject “Law Study Tour” no later than 6 September.
