Senior academics, researchers and policymakers from the UK are invited to express their interest in participating as a keynote speaker at a national TNE conference in Sri Lanka.

The conference focuses on ‘TNE's Contribution to Higher Education’, and will take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 23 November 2023. 

The conference will bring together academics, policymakers and strategists from various corners of the world, facilitating discussions and exchanges on the challenges and matters related to transnational education within the ever-changing global context.

The event is organised by Sri Lanka Association of Non-State sector Higher Education Institutes (SLANSHEI) in collaboration with the British Council.

SLANSHEI was established in 1999 as an association that represents the interests of private higher education institutions in Sri Lanka and is committed to promoting excellence in non-state higher education in Sri Lanka.

About the opportunity

The keynote speech will address one or more of the following conference aims:

  • To present key contributions made by TNE to higher education in Sri Lanka
  • To bring together those involed in TNE education to elicit their views, experiences and vision for the future of TNE. This includes academics and scholars from key UK and international TNE partner universities, Sri Lankan academics from both state and non-state sectors, and key personnel from quality assurance agencies in Sri Lanka.
  • To promote a robust and inclusive quality assurance and accreditation mechanism for TNE in Sri Lanka

The conference participants will be over 100 delegates representing a diverse spectrum covering education professionals, researchers, subject matter experts, policymakers, analysts and practitioners from higher education institution in Sri Lanka and other countries.
