The Kanto Plains International Schools College Fair is held annually for students of international schools in the Tokyo/Yokohama area. In past years, between 400 and 800 students have attended the fair, and it was particularly busy in 2011. This year's college fair will be held at the American School in Japan (http://community.asij.ac.jp/page.aspx?pid=348) in western Tokyo on Friday 14 September from 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m..
Students who attend the fair are generally studying either the International Baccalaureate or a US curriculum (often with Advanced Placement courses), and they have been educated throughout in English. Many are the children of diplomats or company executives. Therefore, they have very high potential for going on to an English-speaking university and so, if you plan to visit Japan around this time, it could be worthwhile including this event in your itinerary.
Participation is free, and several UK institutions have taken part in the past, although US institutions make up the majority of participants.
If you would like to attend this fair, please register directly online here. If you have any queries about the fair, please e-mail Tim Olson at ASIJ at tolson@asij.ac.jp or call +81-422-34-5300 ext. 406.
