Study UK Week will offer institutions an opportunity to virtually connect with influencers on the undergraduate decision-making process and prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students in the US. They will also gain exposure by being part of a YouTube video library, which will serve as an interactive resource for UK university promotion in the US.

The cost for participation in the campaign is £650 (excl VAT) and will include:

  • One six-minute recorded session on a specific topic in UK university admissions, recorded by the university representative. University representatives can choose from the list of topics in the attached document, or they can propose their own topic. These videos will be uploaded to a British Council YouTube channel and will be promoted as part of our campaign. They will also remain on the YouTube channel for up to six months.
  • One live Q&A session about the recorded session topic, which will be hosted by the British Council and promoted to counsellors and prospective students to attend. We plan to group 2-3 UK representatives in each Q&A session, based on the topics of the recorded sessions.
  • One pdf on the top tips and takeaways from the recorded session. This pdf will be designed as sponsored content and will include the university logo and the UK representatives contact information. The pdf will be linked for download in the YouTube video notes and on the campaign page.
  • Paid promotion on a dedicated advertisement campaign for each participating university on Facebook & Instagram.
  • Leads will be collected via a landing page for the campaign. Participating universities will receive the leads who have opted into being contacted.
  • One e-shot per institution to the leads who sign up for the campaign.

The cost for upgrading your participation is £300 (excl VAT) and will add on to your participation:

  • One six-minute recorded session on a second topic in UK university admissions, recorded by the university representative.
  • One pdf on the top tips and takeaways from their second recorded session.
  • Paid promotion of their topic on a second 15-sec advertising video.

What will you gain by joining UK Week?

  • Highlight your institution by creating a bite-sized, six-minute recorded session on a specific topic in UK university admissions.
  • Build relationships with influencers in the region, through participating in a live Q & A session on your recorded session topic.
  • Gain exposure through promotion on the British Council’s website, social media channels and e-shots to influencers in the weeks leading up to UK Week.
  • Receive the contact details of the leads who opt into receiving communications.
  • Enjoy long-term promotion beyond the duration of the event: the bite-sized sessions will be recorded and sent to registered participants as well as the counsellor and agent e-mail lists in the US.

Bite-sized six-minute recorded sessions

Based on insights from counsellors that they are experiencing webinar overload and difficulty with having shorter attention spans due to work-from-home arrangements, we are proposing to run a series of “bite-sized” six-minute recorded sessions on a variety of topics in UK university admissions.

Please Note:
The deadline date for application is: 11 December 2020

The cancellation charges are as follows:

  • 15-20 days from activity             75%
  • 14 days or less from activity      100%

To choose your session topic please complete the attached form, which is in the 'How To Apply' section at the bottom of this page and send to:
Jenna Hartsell, Education Manager:  Jenna.Hartsell@britishcouncil.org

If you're interested in upgrading, please express your interest on your email.

If you would like to propose a session topic that is not covered in our list, please list it next to “Other” and we will review your proposed topic.

The mini sessions should be focused on the chosen topic but institution promotion can be included through an introduction to the institution at the beginning of the webinar and through examples used throughout the webinar, for example.

Topics will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis

The videos will be uploaded to a British Council YouTube channel for up to 6 months and shared with our database of over 3,000 college counsellors and independent education consultants.
