Viet Nam's Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) is organising the Viet Nam Education Partnership and Investment Conference 2024, which will take place on 26 September 2024, in Hai Phong, Viet Nam.

As part of this conference, the British Council and the British Embassy are co-delivering a hybrid UK-Viet Nam Transnational Education Roundtable, on the theme Innovating TNE: Building stronger UK-Viet Nam partnership for the future.

UK universities are invited to take part in this event, which will run from 14.00 to 15.30 (Viet Nam time)/08.00 to 09.30 (UK time) on 26 September.

The main objective of the event is to identify opportunities for the UK education sector to engage with Viet Nam's ambition of becoming ASEAN’s new education hub through:

  • understanding attributes to attract students from the perspective of higher education institutions
  • facilitating discussion on the need to develop innovative approaches to TNE to build sustainable UK Viet Nam partnership in response to growing demand for international education in Viet Nam
  • creating a platform for facilitating partnerships to ensure the UK's position as a trailblazer in TNE sector and a leader in international branch campus in East Asia.

The discussion is led by a university representative and with participants in groups on the following topics. The discussion will cover ideas, innovative approaches and suggestions on:

  • Building sustainable TNE partnerships in teaching – curriculum design and local relevance to ensure alignment with local industry needs and cultural contexts.
  • Innovative model of TNE partnerships:
    • what new models can be developed to ensure sustainability of partnership
    • how technology allows more engagement from home institutions and for students, more flexible and accessible to TNE
    • setting up a UK International Branch Campus (IBC) in Viet Nam – challenges and feasibilities.
