Gunma University in Japan are seeking a UK partner institution to provide Summer/Winter School programmes for their students with a view to forging a university partnership with student/faculty exchange taking place in the future.
Their requirements for the summer/winter programme are outlined below:
• Aiming to establish a 3~4 week ESL program
• Intended start of program: Summer 2015
• General English language and cultural program, which may include volunteer and/or community-based activities, lesson observations, etc.
• Accommodation: Choice of either homestay and/or dormitory plan
• Integrated program as opposed to a closed/customized program preferred
• Able to receive 12~15 member cohorts with no minimum number requirement
• Opened to receiving students of mixed majors
• Require flexibility on part of host university due to GU’s late holiday start: Summer program dates: August 7th or 8th ~ September 30th, Winter program dates: February 9th or 10th ~ March 31st
• Opportunities to establish a partner university relationship for both ESL/JSL exchanges and inter-faculty and/or inter-departmental research exchanges in the future
