British Council Sri Lanka would like to invite universities in the UK to participate in the School visits taking place in September and October 2013. These events will give an opportunity to UK Universities to visit a number of schools in three main cities in Sri Lanka to promote the courses they offer as well as to recruit students.
Colombo: F2F in Schools
Kandy: F2F in Schools
Jaffna: virtual platform from Colombo
Aims of the Event:
- to increase the number of international students at UK universities
- to raise profile of UK universities among Sri Lankan students
- to promote UK education among students and parents in Sri Lanka
- to develop partnerships with international & private schools in Colombo, Kandy & Jaffna
School visits have proven to be an essential method of recruitment for UK institutions for many years, as they reach out to a segment of the target market of potential students (16 to 18 years old). These visits also provide a more personalised approach of providing information to students and building mutually beneficial relationship with schools and their heads.
The dates of the visits are:
Monday 9 to Saturday 14 September 2013: Colombo/ Kandy & Colombo (Jaffna)
Monday 7 to Saturday 12 October 2013: Colombo/ Kandy & Colombo (Jaffna)
The participation fee is GBP 1100.00. This includes:
- Visits to both Colombo and Kandy schools, virtual approach to Jaffna via skype
- A counselling and interview session for the public (UG & PG) at the British Council Colombo
- Individual appointments and a networking event for International school students and their parents.
- Short subject seminars via Video conference –limited opportunities.
