We are delighted to announce that International Education Services Conference 2018 (formerly SIEM conference) will take place at Manchester Central on 5-6 December.
We are now welcoming proposals for this year’s event. The attached document contains the application form as well as content guidelines and other information.
We are looking for content that covers the full range of international education, including schools, FE, ELT and HE. The conference is always a fantastic opportunity to make connections across the sector and develop business opportunities, so we look forward to receiving some exciting and thought-provoking proposals.
This year’s theme is:
Roll with it, or revolutionise?
International education has surged over the past two decades, emerging as a major export for many of the world’s most developed economies and the lifeblood of many education institutions. The UK has established itself as an industry leader. Over a million overseas students study in the UK each year and over 700,000 students are enrolled on UK HE programmes abroad.
Yet the future presents a more complex and volatile environment, with maturing markets, rising political risk and increasing competition. Institutions must ask themselves whether they should adapt to survive these challenging conditions, or reach for new heights and accept the risk of more drastic transformations.
The International Education Services conference 2018 will explore this question, focusing on the changes happening around us in markets, systems, technology and people. The event will provide solutions to futureproof international marketing strategies to ensure competitiveness in the global market place.
More information about how we will be assessing proposals can be found in the attached proposal form.
The deadline for proposals is 10 September 2018. Please return the application form to bryony.bates@britishcouncil.org.
