The government of Bahrain has been increasingly highlighting the Recommended Universities List for students seeking education abroad.

Many UK universities are already on the refreshed list (available online here) but a good number are not on it yet, or in some cases, only some programmes from a university are on it, but not the rest.

While not being on the list doesn’t restrict a UK university’s access to the country, it can still be a deterrent to prospective students.

In Bahrain we are seeing a steady growth in the numbers of students leaving to study in the UK (6.6% since last year), which makes it more essential for universities to be added to the list for students to consider them as potential study destinations.

To start the process, all you need to do is fill in a form. All universities wishing to be added to Bahrain’s Recommended Universities list must fill the “Academic Institutions Accreditation Form”. It is available in Arabic, but the Ministry allows institutions to translate them to their language. The Ministry can receive the form in English.

Ensure to include all the required supporting documents as dictated on the form.

Completed forms can be submitted to the Accreditation and Qualifications Directorate at the Ministry of Education.

Processing the forms can take up to 3-4 months.
