The Global Education & Technology Group is seeking UK schools to provide places for Chinese students to participate in short term academic study programmes in the UK lasting for one, two or three terms.
The demand for such short term placements is from parents owho want to send children aged 9 to 17 to study in the UK, in order for them to get a taste of school life in the UK and be able to adapt easily to studying in UK if they come to study in the UK at a later stage.
It is expected that the short term study placements will help prepare Chinese students’ with their applications to highly ranked British schools or universities if and when they decide to pursue a full time academic study at GCSE, A-level or undergraduate level.
Chinese students are to study the one or two terms alongside existing UK students. The number of Chinese students per class would depend on the capacity of the hostg school, however a minimum of 2 students per class is expected.
Roles and Responsibilities
UK Schools
• Arrange students in the class appropriate to their study level and to assist in course selection
• Professional supervision to ensure that students adjust to the new environment quickly
• Provide health and accident insurance within the UK
• Provide emergency, 24-hour contact and emergency support in the UK
• Provide regular reports about students' study and life in the UK
• Provide a variety of community activities and encourage students to participate in these activities
The Global Education & Technology Group
a) Undertake all promotion in China and recruitment of students
b) Administer students’ UK visa applications and international ticket booking
c) Provide students with appropriate guidance before they leave for the UK
