The purpose of this campaign is to complement our existing efforts to promote study abroad in the UK through the EducationUK and SIEM programmes in the USA. The campaign is aimed at increasing awareness of study abroad in the UK with US undergraduate students. Universities will be able to purchase a half-page advertisement on the Education is GREAT insert as part of the campaign.
The British Council will be placing a printed full page colour advert in student textbook rentals nationally, in order to run a highly targeted campaign by city and subject area.
Insert Specification
• Placed inside of student textbook rentals
• Designed under the Education is GREAT / EducationUK brands
• 1 full letter size page folded in half and held landscape
• Inside top half will be University advertisements
Campaign targeting and reach
• Sent to students in California, New York, Illinois, Texas and DC
• Sent to students studying social sciences, humanities, performing and visual arts, business, and STEM fields
• Campaign will reach a total of around 50,000 students
How you can participate
We are looking for 12 UK universities to nominate their study abroad programs. Universities will be chosen on a first-come first-served basis.
• Please apply to nominate your Universities study abroad program
• Program must fall into one of the following subject areas: social sciences, humanities, performing and visual arts, business, and STEM fields
• University is responsible for design of full-colour advertisement 24 cm wide x 13.5 cm high
• Each institution will have over 4,000 inserts, which works out to be 0.25c each. Note the normal value would be $1.25 each.

• £1,000 (exc. VAT)
Timeline
• Application deadline: 28 July 2014
• Universities will be notified if they were one of the first 12 by: 30 July 2014
• All advertisements must be sent to caprice.hoeveler@britishcouncil.org : 22 August 2014
• Mailing campaign begins: Spring semester: January – May 2015
