The British Council in the Netherlands would like to invite international policy colleagues and Europe leads at UK universities to a digital event where we'll be sharing the results of our new research into sentiment and opportunities for the UK in the Dutch HE sector.

Please register here join us on Tuesday 16 March between 13.00 and 14.30 GMT.

Between November 2020 and February 2021, the British Council conducted a wide-ranging questionnaire together with a series of in-depth stakeholder interviews with Dutch higher education institutions. We focused on two main areas:

  • their current priority areas for internationalisation;
  • the expected effects, as seen by the Dutch HE sector, of the UK's recent departure from the European Union/

We are delighted that we can now share the initial research results at this event for both Dutch and UK partners. Also invited to the event and discussion are partner organisations who took part in the research, including VSNU, Vereniging Hogescholen and Nuffic. The event is open to anyone working in higher education in the UK and the Netherlands who is keen to hear more on this topic.

Event programme

The meeting will be opened by Almut Caspary, Higher Education and Research Lead for the EU region at the British Council.

Jody Hoekstra and Anna Devi Markus from the British Council's team in the Netherlands will then present the initial research results.

We are delighted that Anne-May Janssen from Universities UK International will also join us to share the UK perspective on NL-UK cooperation within the field of higher education.

Following the presentations there will be plenty of room for questions.

By bringing together HE partners from the UK and the Netherlands during this meeting we hope to further contribute to continued close collaboration between our two countries.
