The EEFT has been the largest educational event in Taiwan since the British Council joined in 2010, aiming to promote the education in Europe as a whole in terms of quality, diversity and culture. The EEFT is also a platform for both local and European institutions to create opportunities in partnerships or collaborations. There will be a couple of initiatives that the EEFT has to introduce, including pre-event seminars in cooperation with Taipei Municipal Library, a mini job fair and the GREAT campaign to enhance UK’s visibility in Education, innovation and creativity.
The EEFT 2011 attracted 26,000 visitors and joined by 115 European institutions, of which 58 representing the UK. Following the previous success in 2010, the 3rd Taiwan-Europe Higher Education Conference (TEHEC) invited over 80 delegates to make use the opportunity which is good for networking and identifying whether shared field of interests could be met.
In addition to the TEHEC, British Council organised the ‘Arts & Design Corner’ in response to Taiwan’s ‘Year of Design’ as well as to raise the awareness of the UK’s excellence in such areas. Artworks displayed at ‘Arts & Design Corner’ generated positive feedbacks and well received by local audiences.
