The ELT Gulf Tour is a great opportunity for you to raise your institution’s profile in the region and increase your market share, where face-to-face interaction and on the ground activities are highly valued by this culture. BC SIEM Saudi, Qatar, UAE and Kuwait are delighted to invite expressions of interest for the ELT tour in May 2014.
Background
Statistics show that there is a high demand for English Language courses in the Gulf region driven by the existence of several scholarship schemes and the wealth of the region. The majority of students need to enhance their English language level to improve their chances in obtaining admission from a UK university. The Gulf is a wealthy region with many wealthy families. Many students are able to fund themselves for academic and summer English language courses in the UK.
Objectives
Our aim is to offer an opportunity for the UK ELT institutions to meet with potential students, agents, education institutions and scholarship providers.

- General and intensive english
- English for academic purposes
- Undergraduate foundation/access programmes
- Masters preparation programme
- Vacation courses for young learners
- Business English courses
Programme
In an effort to ensure maximum exposure with minimal costs, the suggested itinerary will be over seven days from Monday 5 May to 12 May 2014.
Riyadh:
Sunday 4 May: arrive in Riyadh
Monday 5 May: activities and mini exhibition
Doha:
Tuesday 6 May (morning): arrive in Doha
Tuesday 6 May: networking activities and exhibition
Wednesday 7 May: school visits and exhibition
Dubai:
Wednesday 7 May (evening): arrive in Dubai
Thursday 8 May: school visits and exhibition
Kuwait:
Saturday 10 May: arrive in Kuwait
Sunday 11 May: exhibition
Monday 12 May: exhibition
Participation fees
The total cost of the tour will be GBP 3500.
Saudi Arabia: GBP800, Qatar: GBP1025, UAE: GBP650 and Kuwait: GBP1025
We aim to open recruitment by 16 January 2014. Registration spaces will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis once we open recruitment.
Selection criteria
Participating institutions should be British Council accredited providers. If you are considering Kuwait as part of the tour, your institution should be listed on the scholarship list set by the Ministry of higher education in Kuwait.
Important notices
- For the tour to go ahead in Doha, Dubai and Kuwait, a minimum of 20 institutions are required.
- Riyadh’s tour is limited to 6 Institutions only with possibility to extend the programme to cover Jeddah and Dammam for other interested institutions
