The British High Commission in Canada is delivering a ‘Pop-Up Consulate’ in Halifax, Nova Scotia in the week commencing 3 March 2014. The aim is to provide a temporary presence in Halifax for all of the British High Commission units (including UK Trade & Investment, Visit Britain, Scottish Development International, and the British Council).
As part of the Pop-Up consulate, the British Council will be hosting an EducationUK Open House in the afternoon of Wednesday 5 March, from 3 – 6pm.
The EducationUK Open House will include presentations on higher education in the UK, a fair component in which participating institutions can host tables and present information to attendees, and a networking reception.
Students, teachers and administrators from local high schools, private schools, universities and colleges will be invited to attend the Open House. The Pop-Up Consulate will also be promoted via local media.
UK education institutions are invited to participate in the EducationUK Open house as follows:
- Host a table providing information on your programmes.
- Propose a short talk on an aspect of higher education in the UK (presentations will be selected to provide a range of topics and institutions).
- Participate in the networking reception.
- The cost for participation is £450 + vat.
**If you are not able to attend, you are invited to provide a few prospectuses for display at the EducationUK Open House and have contact details collected on your behalf. The cost for this is £100 + vat.
