The British Council in Kazakhstan announces “Education UK Certificate for Agents” training in April.

Professional goals

  • This training programme enables agents to effectively promote UK education and provide high-quality information, resources and services to potential international students. The course also develops the skills in finding the information they need and enables agents to regularly update their knowledge and skills. .
  • The course is delivered online and is supported through a core learning resource, The Essential Guide, which provides detailed briefing on key aspects of UK education and training.  In each unit, participants are provided with learning activities, details of key learning resources and an online self-assessment facility.
  • The course is delivered in English
  • Successful candidates will be awarded with the Education UK Certificate for Agents. The Certificate is valid for a period of two years.
  • The course will start on 22 April 2013
  • The average study and reading time required for the Certificate programme is around three hours per week over a six to eight week period, the majority of which is directly job-specific (ie reading, writing, answering self-assessment questions, thinking about your learning).
  • The fee for registered candidates: £350 (equivalent in KZT), paid after the registration
  • This is the first agents’ training organised by the British Council in Kazakhstan within the framework of the British Council’s Services for International Educational Marketing.  For that reason, we are offering a discounted price of £350, instead of the full price of £500, for the first two programmes run in Kazakhstan in 2013.

Note: The training fee is non-refundable, if a candidate does not complete the course or does not pass the exam.

Benefits

Agents will benefit from the training in several ways.

  • They will be recognised by their peers and customers as having reached a certain level of professionalism in promoting UK education and training. As such, obtaining the British Council qualification will represent their valued and recognised professional achievement.
  • Studying the course will develop their understanding of the reasons why international students choose to apply for a UK qualification and the benefits of studying in the UK. They will also gain a broad knowledge of the UK education system and the products offered by UK institutions.
  • They will develop new links and might broker successful partnerships with UK institutions to promote their agency in Kazakhstan and the UK
  • The three best candidates who have completed the course will have the chance to participate in an all-expenses-paid familiarisation trip to UK institutions
