Apex Ed, a private online career college in Sri Lanka, is looking to establish a transnational education (TNE) partnership with a UK institution, with the aim of offering students a pathway to complete bachelors and master’s top-up programmes online and via direct transfer to the UK university.

Background

Catering to around 400 students in an academic year, Apex Ed assists students in acquiring essential skills for the contemporary workplace. It provides Ofqual recognised programmes up to postgraduate level, aligning with current trends and demands in both the country and the region. The diverse range of programmes includes business, education, tourism, hospitality, logistics, and project management.

Apex Ed delivers all its programmes online while upholding the highest standards and offering necessary facilities for students to successfully complete their chosen programmes. This allows access to both Sri Lankan and international students to high-quality education at an affordable cost.

Aim of the collaboration

Apex Ed is seeing increased demand for OTHM programmes.

To meet this demand, the college is seeking a collaboration with a top-ranked UK university, to help students who have registered with OTHM Level 05 and 07 to proceed with their further studies.

In addition, students with a bachelor’s degree can enrol for the proposed MBA programmes.

Subject areas

Apex Ed is aiming to offer the following programmes for their students:

Bachelor’s top up in:

Business, Management, Computer Science

Master’s top-up in:

Level 07 / MBA - Education and Training Management

Level 07 / MBA - Health and Social Care Management

Level 07 / MSc - Finance and Business Law

Level 07 / MSc - Computer Science

Level of qualifications

Level 07: Master's

Level 06:  Bachelor’s

Benefit of the collaboration

Apex Ed will be able to market the affiliated UK university both locally and internationally.

This will be an added advantage for both partners to further internationalise their brand and enhance their services in Sri Lanka and the region.

Given the number of OTHM Level 05 and 07 registrations are increasing rapidly, there would be a high demand for completing a bachelor’s and master’s as a progression pathway.
