The Chongqing Telecommunication Polytechnic College (CTPC) is looking for UK partners to develop and deliver joint undergraduate articulation programmes in China in the subjects of Telecommunications, Auto Manufacturing, Construction, or Interior Design.
CTPC will fund teachers to visit the partnering UK colleges or universities to firstly learn about curriculum design and teaching material development in the relevant subjects. Upon their return to China, these teachers will deliver the jointly developed curricula to students. The “3+1” or “3+2” models (three years in China and one or two years in the UK) can be adopted based on the specification of the courses and preferences of the two parties. Students who successfully complete the jointly developed course should be awarded a Bachelor’s degree in the subject.
CTPC expects the new partnerships to bring high-quality teaching resources and new approaches to curriculum design to their institution, which improve the employability skills of their students and the overall teaching and management standard of the college.

About Chongqing
Chongqing is one of China’s four municipalities directly under the central government. The area of Chongqing is 12 times that of Shanghai, and has 5.6 million more inhabitants. The vast majority of the Chongqing area is still rural. The establishment of the Chongqing municipality in 1997 represented a major breakthrough in China’s initiatives to speed up economic development in the central and western regions. Industrial development is the main engine of Chongqing’s economic growth. The automobile and laptop manufacturing industries are Chongqing’s strongest sectors. Although China’s economic growth has been slowing down in recent years, Chongqing’s growth rate is still increasing. In order to enhance its connectivity and influence under the “One Belt, One Road” and Yangtze River Economic Belt initiatives, Chongqing will further reinforce its strategic position as a shipping centre in the middle reaches of the Yangtze and a national logistics hub. Efforts will also be focused on developing the city into a financial centre and technology education centre.
