A Chinese technical college is looking to work with a UK partner to develop a 3-year joint diploma programme in fashion and design. The Chinese college plans to recruit 80 students (divided in 2 classes) for the first year.
Benefits for the UK partners
This is an opportunity for the selected UK partners to establish long-term partnerships with the Chinese college which has extensive experience in corporate-institute collaboration and international collaboration with overseas institutes from various countries.
Areas of responsibility for the two collaborating parties
The selected UK partners should be:
- a further education institute or TVET college in the UK;
- able to develop joint programmes with FEI(s) in China, undertaking at least 1/3 of core courses and 1/3 of all courses;
- able to work with the technical college to comply with the local government approval process;
- able to deliver face-to-face courses to students either by deploying teachers to China or by accommodating international students from China, undertaking at least 1/3 of the teaching hours.

The Chinese institute is a technical college located in East China and has:
- 801 members of staff
- 13,600 students
- 13 national key subjects
- 8 national training centres
The Chinese college has extensive experience in corporate-institute collaboration and international collaboration with overseas institutes from Germany, New Zealand, Ireland, France, South Korea and Japan.

This may allow sufficient time for both the UK and Chinese partners to work together and submit the appropriate application for approval to the provincial authority by September 2022. The Chinese college aims to commence student recruitment for the programme (if approved) by May 2023.
