UK India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) now in its fourteenth year of promoting bilateral ties between the UK and India, is commissioning a study in the HE and research space to identify key project areas that can be identified and developed for future collaboration between the UK and India.
Purpose:
- The study will identify key project ideas that can be co- funded, co-created and co-delivered bilaterally between Indian and the UK.
- The study would aim to explore, identify key bilateral priorities of Government of India and UK in Higher Education and Research for next ten years and map common areas of interest to the two governments to co-design, co-deliver and co-fund for mutual benefit.
- Explore five large scale higher education opportunities at the state level
- Propose a roadmap for project ideas that could feed into the later stages of design of UKIERI Phase 4

- ITT issued to bidding suppliers-- 29 May 2020
- Deadline for clarification questions from bidders (Clarification Deadline) --10 June 2020
- British Council to respond to clarification questions--15 June 2020
- Deadline for submission of ITT responses by potential suppliers (Response Deadline) --30 Jun 2020 by 23:59 hrs (UK time)
- Clarification of questions and presentations by shortlisted agencies--15 - 22 July 2020
- Selection of winning bid--28 July 2020
- Intimation to successful and unsuccessful bids--29 July 2020
- Contract award decision--9 August 2020

- Desk research to provide the general landscape (size, quality, governance, funding, strengths/opportunities) of the higher education sector at national and state level
- Strategic meetings with senior policy makers and HE leaders in India and the UK to identify top five national and five state level co-funding opportunities between India and the UK in Higher Education/Research sector for the next 10 years.
- Prioritisation of states and cities for engagement based on market, reform and regulation, academic quality, international activity and potential opportunities
- Online survey to map and analyse key academic institutions based on internationalisation strategies and implementation plans
- Qualitative Competitor analysis based on innovations, best practice, investments and impact
- Market analysis and insights on the largescale funding opportunities for collaboration between India and the UK
