The Inspiring India in Research, Innovation and STEM Education (IRISE) is a collaboration between five partners – the Department of Science and Technology (under Government of India), the British Council, Tata Trusts, Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) UK and Tata Technologies, who have come together to strengthen Government of India’s mandate for Science, innovation with innovative teaching pedagogies, helping enrich the very core of Indian education system.

The founder consortium partners have appointed Indian Institute for Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune as the lead implementation partner for the programme.

We aim to have a strong UK representation in the programme to bring in the best of research and innovation experience from UK HEIs. Interested UK universities are requested to apply through the link below.

As part of the programme, IISER Pune has published a tender notice for one of the components of the programme, related to Early Career Researchers/ PhD scholars.

The main objective under this strand, is to design a professional development initiative aimed at improving the competency of PhD scholars to enable them to succeed in academic and non-academic sectors.

The aim is to improve their core skills and competencies around themes like leadership and collaboration; science communication; teaching and mentoring, critical thinking, problem solving etc which will enable these scholars to conduct high quality research and communicate the same effectively to relevant stakeholders enabling improved uptake of their research.
