Call for Proposals: Expo 2020 Dubai-Innovation Impact Grants

Call for Proposals now open through 30 September 2016.
From October 2020 to April 2021, Dubai will host the next World Expo. Expo 2020 Dubai will bring together more than 180 nations and host an international audience of 25 million million visitors-an unprecedented global gathering of ideas and innovations aimed at addressing the challenges facing the world today. Expo Live is a Euro 100 million programme which will provide grants to projects and initiatives that encapsulate the spirit of "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future" in the three sub-themes of Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability. In the spirit of innovation, Expo Live is calling on people with inspiring solutions from around the world to apply for Expo Live Innovation Impact Grants.

Expo Live seeks original innovations or the creative application of existing solutions to critical challenges facing society. Successful grant recipients could also qualify for additional funding that will enable their solutions to be showcased during Expo 2020 Dubai to an international audience of 25 million visitors. The value of grants will depend on the maturity and scalability of innovations, the scale of impacts in the sub-theme areas and at grassroot level, the duration of projects and the other considerations outlined in the grant Manual. Grant amounts could range, indicatively, between Euro 50 000 and Euro 2 million per project; and it could be once off or sequenced against milestones.

Who can apply?
Social enterprises, small entrepreneurs, universities, research or educational bodies, not-for-profit foundations, private companies or public-private partnerships, government institutions or public associations, non-governmental organisations, community-based or grassroot groups.

How to apply?
Applicants for an Innovation Impact Grant should visit the website: www.expo2020dubai.ae/expolive.
At the website, applicants can complete a registration process, and submit a short abstract explaining the challenge they are tackling, and the solution they propose. These abstracts will be assessed by an evaluation panel. Shortlisted applicants will be requested to submit a full proposal. The deadline for submission of proposal abstracts is 30 September 2016.
