About the scheme:
We would like to invite your institution to join our Education UK Student Ambassadors Scheme 2016. For the past six years, over 20 student ambassadors have worked in the Hong Kong office over the summer. These positions are aimed at Hong Kong students aged 15 or above who are currently studying in the UK. This year, we are looking for three or four outgoing, bright students with an engaging personality.
Roles of the student ambassadors:
The ambassadors would work with the Programmes team in Hong Kong on projects related to promoting UK education, including helping at the Education UK exhibitions, pre-departure briefings, and as student spokespersons in media articles and interviews.
The ambassadors will also have the opportunity to work at other departments at the British Council office. A career advice consultation session will also be offered to the appointed student ambassadors.
Benefits to the participating institutions:
Participating institutions with successful student ambassadors selected by British Council enjoy the following benefits:
- Exposing your Hong Kong students to relevant job opportunity
- Promoting your institution to prospective students through British Council summer events
- Including student stories and your institution’s information in:
- British Council’s pre-departure briefing presentations x 4 sessions (expected total number of audience: 700-800 students and parents)
- Local printed newspaper supplements (in Chinese) x 2 pieces
- Education UK e-newsletter x 1 time in August 2016 (circulation: 20,000 subscriptions)
