Study visitor visas to the UK in 2016 show an increase of 57 per cent from the same period the previous year i.e. from 7467 to 11748.
ELT programmes offer an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their English language skills while helping them experiencing an international education and preparing them for further study abroad.
According to the British Council’s Student Insight Survey 2017 respondents stated that the second most important influencing factor, on the decision to study overseas, was to improve English language skills which was selected by 19.9% of respondents after improving the career prospects being the most popular factor - selected by 24.5% of respondents.
To support the UK ELT sector in this massive growing market, the British Council Turkey is organising a fun and engaging digital campaign for the UK English language providers to raise their profiles and help them recruit students in Turkey for their courses.
The aims of the campaign are:
- To increase the exposure of prospective students and professionals to UK’s excellence for English Language Teaching.
- To place the UK as the first choice of destination for English study and increase the growth rate of Turkish students attending English language courses in the UK.
- To promote the UK as an excellent study destination for learning English language as it’s the birthplace and demonstrate how Turkish students can benefit from a UK education.
- To promote the benefits of UK qualifications and show the diversity of the UK ELT schools.
- To increase awareness of participating ELT schools and traffic to their websites.
We will be targeting prospective students, and supporting decision makers, e.g. parents and educators.
Digital ELT Campaign will be run in February 2018.
ELT schools are invited to take part in the campaign to expose their brand to a wide digital audience.
How will the campaign run?
A detailed promotional plan will be in place. The campaign will have generic messaging and British Council branding about studying in the UK as well as participating institutions’ visibility and channel audiences to British Council’s resourced landing page which will host the participating institutions' logos, web links, names and other information.
The user will be encouraged to take a test through an application on social media after reading the information on the website. At the end of the test, users will be matched with the most suitable ELT school that they should consider for study. They will see a short text which explains the results for the matching school. Users will be directed to the ELT provider’s website at the end of the test to read more about the school.
Why you should be part of it?
The number of UK short term study visas has increased by almost 60% according to 2016 visa statistics. There is strong evidence that the interest will likely to increase.
Through this digital campaign ELT schools will have a chance to promote themselves in such a promising market.
Places are limited to 15 institutions.
