The British Council is delighted to invite UK institutions to contribute content to a new edition of the Study UK: Discover You booklet.

Individual institutions are invited to list their profile or take out an advertorial page in the booklet which will be distributed from October 2019 to March 2020 at British Council education marketing events across China.

What is the Study UK: Discover You booklet?

The Study UK: Discover You booklet provides students in China with an overview of the UK education system, providing a detailed introduction to the different levels of study available as well as how to apply and up to date information on the visa application procedure.

The booklet is designed to support Chinese students, who have an interest in overseas study, with their decision-making process and support parents and other interested parties in learning more about UK education.

Promotion and distribution of the booklet will be coordinated with the British Council China’s education marketing activities, including exposure at national education exhibitions, education agent workshops and other local events. The booklet will also be distributed to related training schools and education agencies across the country to provide general information on UK education to their education consultants.

What’s new this year?

This year, for the first time, a digital version of the booklet will be available. Through scanning a QR code, students will be able to access a digital version of the booklet, which as well containing all images and information will also have videos of each institution.

The digital booklet meets the needs of the current younger generation in China who prefer information at their fingertips and will allow for the booklet to be distributed to a larger audience than previous years.

Benefits

  • Reach over 65,000 readers interested in UK education through offline and online channels
  • Promote your institutions’ offerings to a large number of potential students in China
  • Increase your institution’s profile across China

Requirements

UK institutions will be required to provide the following content:

  • If your institution applies to reserve an advertorial page, it is advisable that they provide a ready-to-print artwork design with page dimensions of 210mm x 145mm.  The British Council can provide basic design services upon request.
  • If your institution applies to reserve a profile page, a standard page layout will be used. You will need to provide a high-resolution file of your institution’s logo and two to three photographs. A content collection form is provided in order for you to submit information to be included in the text. This may include a brief introduction of your institution and facilities, information on your offerings, profiles of academic staff, students and alumni, scholarships, and other general information about studying at your institution. All materials should be provided as text files (.doc) or pictures (.jpg).
  • A short video of your institution for the digital booklet.

As the booklet will be produced in Chinese, it is recommended that participating institutions provide all content in this language. Alternatively, the British Council China can arrange chargeable high-quality translation services for institutions that submit content in English.

Please note that we retain the right to abridge content if it exceeds the stipulated number of words.
