The British Council’s Education UK website is looking for inspiring stories of international student alumni from further education colleges.
About the Education UK website
Education UK is the British Council’s website for international students interested in studying in the UK or taking a UK qualification overseas.
With over 2 million visitors each year, our aims are to:
• Inspire international students to choose a UK education
• Help students to find suitable UK courses and scholarships
• Help students to plan and prepare for UK student life.
The site caters for students interested in UK higher education, further education, boarding schools and English language centres.
What we are looking for
We are looking for case studies of international student alumni of UK further education colleges to form part of two simultaneous campaigns to attract international students to study in the UK:
• Promoting further education.
• Promoting post-study career prospects.
Articles will be promoted via Education UK Facebook, Education UK Twitter and other social media channels to audiences worldwide.
Alumni should be:
• Former international students currently working either in the UK or overseas.
• Alumni of further education colleges.
• Positive about their UK education experience
• Able to talk about their success and attribute this in a large part to their UK further education.
• One former international student per submission
Home student alumni:
We are primarily looking for international student alumni. However, if you have any case studies of former home students who you feel would be particularly inspiring, please get in touch: ellie.buchdahl@britishcouncil.org.
How to contribute:
Please ask interested alumni to answer the questions on the attached form, with pictures and personal details as indicated on the form, to: ellie.buchdahl@britishcouncil.org.
Editing and publishing
In some cases, we may need to edit pieces to brand/editorial standards. If so, we will send you a copy before publishing for your sign-off.
Word count and style
Please use plain English, write as if you are having a conversation, avoid corporate-speak or specialist industry terms and bear in mind that many readers do not speak English as a first language. There is no word count.
Testimonials will be accepted on a rolling basis to feed into our further education resources.
