EDUEXPO, organised by FPP Media, is a traditional student recruitment event in Brazil. In fact, it is regarded by the British Council as the best option among the multiple countries and multiple products fairs. The lack of agents in the market makes fairs the most interesting alternative for branding and recruitment.
After organising a successful British Pavilion in the last EDUEXPO edition, in March, British Council has a low cost alternative for institutions interested in having exposure this September. It addresses the main concern from students in our last market survey: they don’t know where to start. They need a starting point to identify a group of courses and institutions within their plans.
We will produce a flyer/info-sheet to show students tips in their areas plus a few universities operating within the range of their interests. A first step in the research process of finding universities (or colleges), also including Education UK website drops, like the search engine material will be produced by niche. If you are interested in being in one of them, you can sponsor it, be associated to the area/level.
Organisers estimate that 5,000 students will attend EDUEXPO in São Paulo, about 2,000 in Rio. We will also reach the wealthy city of Campinas, about 100 km from São Paulo, with about 1,000 students. The events are not focused exclusively on Higher Education (or the UK), but the total numbers are impressive. It is a good complement, for instance, to the British Council HE-focused fair, happening one month later.
Sponsorship cost is £200 per institution, per leaflet, covering 4,000 leaflets each (they will be taken to the three fairs).
Available leaflets:
- Postgraduate Law
- Postgraduate Business/Finance
- UG + PG Arts/Design
- UG + PG Media/Communications
- Postgraduate Engineering
- UG + PG International Relations
We will only be able to go ahead with the leaflets that have at least 6 institutions interested (maximum 12). So, we will need to get back to you telling if your chosen options will be indeed produced.
We can also mention the universities that are coming to Brazil for our UK Universities 2012, as a bonus. We are also considering marking a Science Without Borders connection in the flyer, because half of the options mentioned above are eligible for the scholarships in 2013.
If your institution is interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, please contact Adriana Sorrenti by 27 July 2012.
