Nearly 5,000 students from Thailand travel to the UK each year for short-term English courses. In addition to general English, many students are now looking for courses on a specific subject such as law, oil and gas, business, tourism, medicine, and aviation in order to aid career advancement. In addition, more students are interested in English Plus and other programmes to help enhance their skills, experience, and personal interests. Currently, the most popular subjects are football, cooking, and art.
Even though many UK institutions are offering such programmes, there are limited resources available for Thai parents and students to access such information. This guidebook therefore provides information on English courses for specific subjects, English Plus, and other programmes or activities. It offers a great opportunity for institutions in the UK to promote awareness among students and parents in Thailand about other types of English programmes.
The guidebook will be published in both Thai and English in order to communicate with a wider target group, with 4,000 copies printed and distributed to the right target audience and made available at British Council activities and events. Furthermore, in order to respond to the changing behaviour of parents and students and enhance its reach, the guidebook will also be produced in electronic format.
Samples of how the guidebook will look, both in hard copy and electronic version, can be obtained from the links below.
