UK universities with a focus on internationalisation are invited to register to join our UK-Kuwait Special Interest Group.

This network will bring together representatives from UK universities who are interested in fostering relationships with Kuwait’s higher and further education sectors, as well as relevant government bodies.

Objectives of the UK-Kuwait Interest Group

  • To establish a platform for UK universities and the British Council Kuwait to exchange insights, experiences, and effective approaches regarding Kuwait’s operational and regulatory framework.
  • To serve as a guiding platform for UK universities, offering insights into priority areas, potential opportunities and strategies to address challenges related to their activities in Kuwait, including student recruitment, research collaborations, capacity-building, and institutional partnerships.
  • To contribute to shaping or co-ordinating the sector’s response to emerging opportunities and highlighting British Council initiatives aimed at bolstering the engagement of UK universities with Kuwait.

Initial meeting

The British Council in Kuwait will host an event in November 2024, to enable UK Special Interest Group members to visit Kuwait and meet with the higher education sector and other partners.

Flights and accommodation costs will be covered for two representatives from each selected member university (further details available soon).
