The British Council in the Philippines will work with the Animation Council of the Philippines to promote UK animation programmes and expertise in animation education.
The 8th Philippine Animation Conference will happen in Makati City, Metro Manila on 25-28 November and will include activities as screenings, competitions, plenaries, and master classes. The theme for this year is Synergy: Key to a Better Philippine Animation Industry. Previous years' participants are mainly students (70 per cent) and professionals (15 per cent). This year, the conference aims to have 1000 participants.
Opportunities to take advantage include:
1. Conference sponsor – GBP 2500
UK university will host the winner of the film competiton (student category) for a one-week short course or mentoring session in the UK. The partner will receive acknowledgment as conference partner and will enjoy logo inclusion in all collaterals as well as mention in all press releases for the Conference. British Council will assist in visa and will cover return flights, visa fees and accommodation costs of the winner while in the UK.
In addition, UK university will have the following benefits:
- Option to send in an academic to host a 3-hour plenary session during the conference (topic to be approved by organizers)
- Option to send in student or staff productions for screening (length and quantity to be confirmed)
- Acknowledgement as event sponsor in print and media announcements and collaterals.
- May include one item in conference kits

2. Conference patron – GBP 1500
UK university will have the following benefits:
- Send in an academic to sit in a 1.5-hour panel session on animation education at the conference
- Option to send in student or staff productions for screening
- May include one item in conference kits
