The British Council USA is chairing a session on the topic of UK-US community college partnerships at the upcoming American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Annual Meeting in April.  As the chair of this session titled “Bridging the Atlantic: Reimaging Models of Engagement with UK Colleges and Universities” we would like to highlight some new or longstanding and successful partnerships between UK colleges and universities and US community colleges. Session speakers will be John Mountford, International Director, Association of Colleges and Dr. Michael Chipps, President Northeast Technical College.

Please share your partnership stories with us.  What we’re looking for are examples of UK further and higher education partnerships involving at least one US community college, including:

  • the nature of that partnership (Faculty exchange, short-term study or training abroad, progression arrangements, etc),
  • the institutions involved,
  • how long the partnership has been in place,
  • and if possible, the impact of the partnership (defined as appropriate by # of faculty/student mobility, development of a new training program, student enrollment, etc).

Questions should be directed to Janice Mulholland, Higher Education Manager, British Council USA at janice.a.mulholland@britishcouncil.org.

The deadline is 8 April 2013.
