The number of Indian students travelling to various countries for higher education increases every year. India ranks second in the world after China in terms of the number of students who choose to study abroad. But what really makes them choose foreign institutions over the local ones?
Students have been citing various reasons right from faculty to international exposure. Some of them choose a university because they are interested in a research-based course and feel international universities provide high-end infrastructure and exposure. Many students have also expressed concerns over the inflexibility in the Indian education system. International universities offer specific and niche courses where students are allowed to pick and choose modules of their interest.
Although it is time-consuming for students to get acquainted with the courses and education system abroad, they are still happy to study there. The reason being, the institutions have dedicated personnel to support international students in getting settled.
The number of Indian students choosing to study abroad will increase each year, as will the demand for better education, facilities and career prospects. SIEM India provides a range of opportunities for UK institutions to market their institutions and promote their courses to prospective students.
