The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority continues to win respect of major foreign and local companies looking for highly skilled workers, its director general Joel Villanueva, said. He added that companies like Warner Bros., Walt Disney, Hanjin and Keppel Corp. have been inquiring with TESDA for skilled workers for the past few months.
Due to ISO certification, Villanueva said some big foreign companies have let go the required five year experience for every Filipino skilled workers who graduated through TESDA. Citing a survey conducted among 5,500 companies, Villanueva mentioned that more than 86 percent of the employers have expressed contentment to the performance of TESDA graduates. He added that 92 percent of them made commitment to hire TESDA graduates. Reports the Visayan Daily Star.
