A Vietnam-UK educational investment and cooperation forum was held in London on January 22, with the participation of around 200 British partners. Twenty-three memoranda of understanding were signed between Vietnam and UK education institutions in this event, covering bilateral cooperation in secondary school, tertiary and postgraduate education, vocational training and publication, among others.

Another key activity of the Minister's and his delegation's visit to the UK was a MoU signed with Education Minister of Wales Kirsty Williams on cooperation in training, policy dialogue, and experience sharing in educational management and research cooperation between Vietnamese educational institutions and those from Wales.

Notably, the Wales administration, through its Global Wales fund, will provide Vietnam with 20 full scholarships for postgraduate students each year from 2020-2022 to pursue study at universities in Wales under the Chevening Scholarships programme of the UK Government.

The Vietnam Minister also had a talk with the Minister of State at the UK Department for Education, Nick Gibb, about the two countries' education cooperation. The Minister Nha said he hopes the UK will help Vietnam improve not only higher education but also primary and secondary education and Vietnam also wants to learn the UK’s experience in developing STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and English training programmes.
