Vietnam plays a crucial role in science research activities at home as well as in other Asian countries. Therefore Vietnam has become a part of the newly-signed charter to establish a Public Interest Group (GIP) of the European Consortium for Asian Field Study (ECAF). The outcome followed a five-day working visit to France by a delegation from the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) led by its Vice President Nguyen Quang Thuan who said ‘Vietnam plays a crucial role and is an active member in carrying out projects and research activities at home as well as in other Asian countries.’

The charter aimed to activate further cooperation in the research and teaching of social sciences, especially in the areas of linguistics, culture, history, archaeology and religion, reported VietNamNet.
