An increasing number of outstanding Chinese students are choosing to give up Gaokao (the national college entrance examination in China) to study in the US and the UK for undergraduate courses, which created booming opportunities for international tests, publishers, training agencies and even tourism industries. Registration for 2013 Gaokao in Beijing just ended and nearly 10 per cent of the students in key middle schools gave up the Gaokao. Years after the SAT, a standardised test for college admissions in the US, was introduced and dominated the college admission exam market in China, another major US test organization, ACT inc, announced its plans to grab a piece of the pie, reports China Daily
