On 5th August, a quarterly report of international students studying in the US, was released by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), part of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). As of 8th July, 966,333 international students were enrolled in nearly 9,000 US schools using an F (academic) or M (vocational) visa. About 28% of all international students were from China (27,0596 by 8 Jul 2014) with the biggest share, India and South Korea rank the second and third place. A total of 75% US international students are from Asian countries.
The report further said that nearly 350,000 international students pursued STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) coursework in July, 69% of them are male students.
