Following long standing claims in Spain, a most expected regulatory framework has just been passed addressing some of the issues regarding recognition of regulated qualifications in Spain (Real Decreto 581/2017, de 9 de junio). This mostly affect to Architecture and Medicine related professions. While this is a long text and quite complex to understand (a bit messy), the RD, issued on 9th June, is the way in which Spain follows after EU Directive of 2005. Universities who offer Medicine and Architecture related subjects should check that they are listed in the annexes of the RD. If they are, students will be able to exercise the profession in Spain. If they are not, they should be aware and/or address the issue with their international departments.
