The Indonesia National Accreditation Agency or the BAN PT provides information related with the quality of Indonesian universities. The BAN PT is tasked by the Government to assess the quality of higher education institution across the country. The quality assessment process starts with self-evaluation conducted by those responsible for a particular study programme within the university, and ends with recommendations for improvement or closing of the programme.
Following up on the self-evaluation, the BAN-PT then conducts the accreditation by assessing the universities in terms of two main areas:
• Institutional capacity, which includes [i] eligibility, integrity, vision, mission, and target, [ii] governance, [iii] management, [iv] human resources, [v] campus facilities, [vi] finance, and [vii] information systems;
• Effectiveness of education delivery, which includes [i] student input, [ii] curriculum, [iii] learning system, [iv] research, publication, other innovative projects, and community services, [v] quality assurance system, [vi] academic situation, [vii] graduate output, and [viii] quality of study programmes.
BAN PT Accreditation Status:
• A = Very Good, score range: 361 – 400
• B = Good, score range: 301 – 360
• C = Adequate, score range: 200 – 300
• Not Accredited = score range: 199 – 0
BAN PT has a website which provides information on accreditation universities across Indonesia.

BAN PT is the only official accreditation body authorized by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education.
UK Institutions are able to check the accreditation of Indonesian universities through the BAN PT website.
BAN PT website is very useful especially in helping UK Universities with the admission process. Through this website, UK Universities are able to verify students’ qualifications.
