National Taiwan University recently announced its plan to offer five courses through Coursera, the MOOCs platform established by the Stanford University at the USA.

Coursera has attracted over 2.5 million users since its operation started in 2012. It currently has 62 partner universities around the world. Starting from this year, Coursera extended their cooperation with a number of Asian universities, such as the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, National University of Singapore, in addition to National Taiwan University, which will be offering some of its most popular courses ranging from humanities to mathematics.

These courses will be delivered in Chinese and course takers will be awarded with a certificate upon successful completion. The NTU courses are now open for registration and will start in August 2013, reported United Daily.
