The National Competency Standards (NCS) system, similar to the National Occupational (NOS) standards in the UK, has been widely adopted over various sectors in Korea in line with government policy. As part of the plan, curricula of FE colleges have adjusted with NCS and now a new employment plan has been announced.

Over 100 public companies will hire people based on the NCS in 2015. For example, Korea South-East Power (KOSEP), a state owned company, adopted new hiring procedures this year in line with the NCS.

The government will provide support for selective corporations that hire people with NCS based system and will release manuals detailing what the NCS is to help revise job related training programs for schools and institutes.
