LPDP in Indonesia have announced the opening of two scholarship categories. Further announcements for remaining categories of LPDP are awaited.
At the moment, only the two following categories have been announced for applications:
1. Pendidik (Educator) Scholarships
2. PTUD (World Top Ranking Universities) Scholarships
The Pendidik Scholarships are master’s level scholarships for permanent teachers at schools under the Ministry of Education and Culture; and doctoral scholarships for permanent lecturers at tertiary institutions under the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The scholarship aims to develop and improve the quality of teachers and lecturers as per Indonesia's strategic needs and plans. These scholarships will be facilitated at local Indonesian universities.
The PTUD scholarships are intended for Indonesian citizens who have obtained an Unconditional Letter of Admission / Acceptance from selected top-ranking universities to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees. There are 15 international universities included in this list by LPDP, with two from the UK. The list can be viewed on the LPDP website at this link
Meanwhile, for other LPDP scholarship categories the LPDP have shared that further announcements are expected, and applicants are advised to keep checking and monitoring the LPDP website and social media platforms for latest updates.
Commentary by Lisa Wilianto:
While these two categories of scholarships have been opened, it is worth noting that the announcement of PTUD scholarships registration allows a rather short time span for applications – from 6 to 20 October 2020. This will limit the number of applications that LPDP will receive. We expect announcements for the remaining categories, however, there is no indication of time and calendar for these. We will keep all partners in UK updated with any changes as soon as they are announced.
