Year on year, La Caixa offers a substantial programme of full scholarships to students from Spain willing to do a master overseas. This is a well known programme which best students around Spain look for as it covers full costs of tuition fees as well as living expenses through a monthly very generous stipend.

Our key highlights are:

GENDER: More women than men have applied, pre-selection was passed by a larger number of men than women, final grants were 33 for men and 32 for women
AGE: Students are very young! The average age of the grantees is 24 (an evidence that students from Spain tend to do a Master straight after their UG programme)
SUBJECTS: The most demanded subjects were Engineering and Technology, followed by Health Sciences and Physics
REGIONS: As every year, many of the candidates apply from Madrid (22 selected) and Barcelona (23 selected). The remaining 20 grants were distributed around Spain.
UK REMAINS PREFERRED DESTINATION: 63% of all candidates chose the UK, followed by France (9%) & Netherlands (7%). In total, out of 65 grants, 41 students chose the UK, 6 chose France, 5 went to Netherlands and 4 chose Sweden. Only 2 students chose to go to Germany.
