The International Research Collaborations (Round 1) delivered by the British Council offers grants to support research collaborations between UK institutions and their overseas partners. Over £3.5m in funding has been awarded to 45 projects from 36 UK institutions.

These grants are part of the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF), which is designed to enable potential and foster prosperity. It puts research and innovation at the heart of our international relationships, supporting UK researchers and innovators to work with peers around the world on the major themes of our time: planet, health, tech and talent. Managed by Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, ISPF is part of the UK’s commitment to prioritise strategic international science partnerships.

As one of the partner organisations delivering ISPF, the British Council is launching several bilateral and multilateral research collaboration grants, early-career research fellowship schemes, capacity strengthening initiatives, and networking opportunities to support collaborations among researchers and innovators.

We are pleased to announce that the following collaborative projects have been awarded grants. The results of grants for collaborations with institutions in Egypt and Malaysia will be announced later.
