HSBC has recently conducted a survey that reports 88% of Indian parents are keen to send their children for postgraduate studies abroad — a proportion that is the highest in the world after Turkey , Malaysia and China.

This survey was carried out with 5,550 parents in 16 countries and territories, with a minimum of 300 parents from each country. The survey was conducted online in March and April by Ipsos MORI.

The survey results also confirmed the well-known fact about the USA  being the most preferred education destination among Indians.

While there are a number of reasons for parents keen on sending their children abroad for higher studies, some of the top draw were the study methods and courses available for niche courses, better job prospects, global exposure and practical training.

The report also highlights 93% parents are willing to spend more on overseas education and information technology comes out as the most popular subject of study.
