The Ministry of Human Resource Development is working towards an arrangement where the students will be provided with the degree certificates in digital format. This is part of Digital India initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar has said that all the degrees and board certificates will be awarded in digital format from 2017. The idea is to enable students to have an online profile, where all the documents are available at a single click. Students will be able to upload their documents which are currently available in non-digital formats after proper authentication.
This will help the recruiters to access the prospective employees’ profile, making recruitment a smooth and less time-consuming process. This will also help the Government to eliminate issues arising out of fake degrees and mark sheets.
