British Council and Royal Society of Chemistry welcome applications for Researcher Link Workshop Grants under Newton Bhabha Fund for 2016.

The objective of the scheme is to bring together early-career researchers from India and the UK to build international connections which can support them in improving the quality of their research.

The workshops are jointly funded by British Council and Royal Society of Chemistry in following priority areas:

1. Only Chemistry related applications are invited

2. Within the chemical sciences proposals, the following challenge areas are particularly welcome:  

a) Human Health – e.g. antimicrobial resistance, neglected diseases, medicinal chemistry, bio-materials. 

b) Energy – e.g. sustainable fuels, chemicals and energy storage. 

c) Environment and Sustainability – e.g. new materials, nanomaterials, water quality, climate, agriculture, air. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Leading Researchers (researchers leading their research area or field ) as defined by the European Commission here. This applies incase anyone wants to apply to be workshop coordinators
  • Each proposal must have one workshop coordinator from the UK and one from India
  • Only workshops covering chemistry-related research can be funded
